Comey composed the update after he met in the Oval Office with Trump, the day after the Republican president let go Flynn on Feb. 14 for misdirecting Vice President Mike Pence about the degree of his discussions a year ago with Russia`s diplomat, Sergei Kislyak.

"I trust you can release this," Trump told Comey, as indicated by a source comfortable with the substance of the notice.

The New York Times said that amid the Oval Office meeting, Trump censured a progression of government breaks to the news media and said the FBI executive ought to consider arraigning journalists for distributing ordered data.
