Wasgington: US President Donald Trump asked then-FBI chief James Comey to end the agency`s examination concerning ties between previous White House national security counsel Michael Flynn and Russia, as indicated by a source who has seen a notice composed by Comey.
The White House immediately denied the report, saying in an announcement it was "not a honest or precise depiction of the discussion between the president and Mr. Comey."
Comey composed the update after he met in the Oval Office with Trump, the day after the Republican president let go Flynn on Feb. 14 for misdirecting Vice President Mike Pence about the degree of his discussions a year ago with Russia`s diplomat, Sergei Kislyak.
"I trust you can release this," Trump told Comey, as indicated by a source comfortable with the substance of the notice.
